Bloodhound Books have released the cover treatment for Rachel’s Story, the exciting new novel from bestselling author Leigh Russell. In a departure from Leigh’s more familiar crime and thriller books, Rachel’s Story is set in a post-pandemic dystopian world where governmental control is absolute.
When asked about why she has changed genres for this book, Leigh Russell said:
“Ideas for stories spring up in the most unlikely places. One of the main threads running through my dystopian novel, Rachel’s Story, was inspired by watching a small child tasting solid food for the first time. An experience so familiar we scarcely notice it opens up a whole new world to infants. Rumblings of political unrest in the real world was another influence on the plot in the book, where a tyrannical governing Council is capable of vicious cruelty towards its citizens.. The balance between individual freedom and the pressure to conform is one issue that is explored in the book.”
Rachel’s Story is published by Bloodhound Books on 6 April 2021.
