Jaz Brown
Jaz has been working as a professional actor under her stage name of Jasmine Arden-Brown since 2014, appearing in numerous media and theatre productions around the country. She has found herself in a multitude of odd realities, such as wrangling dinosaurs in London, rebelling against authority in Edinburgh, torturing heretics in Warwick, and hosting a spaceship’s radio show in the distant future.
She has performed Shakespeare amongst ancient castle ruins as well as above a chippy, and toured hundreds of schools with wacky educational shows.
Jaz is also a theatre director, having recently put David Hare’s “The Permanent Way” on stage at the Coach House Theatre, Malvern, and has performed stand-up comedy at the Glee Club, Birmingham.
As a writer, Jaz has won two short play competitions with a pair of dark comedies, and was also a winner of the Hysteria Writing Competition in 2020.
Over recent years, she has filled the pandemic-sized hole in her acting CV with novel writing – a longstanding passion of hers – and her quirky metafiction comedy, “Help! We’re Trapped Inside this Book!” is currently on submission to publishers.
Jaz lives in Birmingham with her husband, Ben, where they often act and write together. When not working, she can generally be found slaying monsters in her favourite videogames.
